Rooted in the Western Ghats
The story of Yeskay Coffee is the story of the hills around us: of growers who pick every cherry by hand, and of the craft that turns that harvest into coffee the world asks for by name.
Our story
Two locations, one purpose
Yeskay Coffee Curing Works Pvt. Ltd. operates from Begur, near Mysore, in the Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka. Our office at Kalpetta, the heart of Wayanad, Kerala, keeps us close to the planting community that has grown with us.
Season after season, coffee arrives at our works from estates small and large across the region. We cure it, grade it, store it and help find it the right buyer, treating every lot, from a smallholder's few bags to a large estate's full harvest, with the same care.
We are proud to be part of an Indian coffee tradition recognised worldwide for its taste and its gentle, shade-grown ways.
The craft
What coffee curing means
Curing is the decisive stage between harvest and market. Done well, it protects everything the estate worked a whole year for; done carelessly, it can undo it. That is the responsibility we take on with every lot we receive.
- Cleaning the raw coffee of husk, sticks and stones
- Grading beans by size, density and weight
- Hulling and polishing to reveal the clean green bean
- Sorting out defective beans so only the best remain
- Bagging and storing each lot, ready for the buyer
